Credentials

Credentials holds what Enture uses to prove its identity when it connects to your devices and to outside systems:

  • Certificates: for secure connections to OPC UA servers.
  • Secrets: secret keys for outside systems, such as the shared secret of an integration plant.

Open it from the Settings menu (gear icon), under Configurations → Credentials.

Engineer access required

Secrets

The Secrets tab lists every secret key your organisation has stored:

Column Meaning
Used by What uses the secret, for example GOBARdhan Portal · Plant A. Click it to open that plant's settings. Tags show whether it's a Test or Production plant, and whether its reporting is disabled or paused
Last changed When the secret was last saved or replaced, and by whom
Last used When Enture last used it successfully, for example to send a reading. Not used yet means it was saved but hasn't been used

A secret can never be viewed

Once saved, a secret is stored encrypted and can't be displayed again, by anyone. You can only replace it.

Replacing a secret

  1. Click Replace secret on the row.
  2. Paste the new secret and click Replace secret.

Replacing a secret here is the same as replacing it in the plant's own Settings. If the plant's reporting was paused because the portal rejected its credentials, reporting resumes with the new secret.

Access history

Click History on a row to see every time the secret was saved, used or deleted: when, what happened, by whom (a user, or Automatic reporting), and the result. The secret itself is never shown in the history. Turn on Show status checks to also see routine status lookups.

Adding and removing secrets

Secrets are added where they're needed, for example when you add an integration plant. They're removed automatically when that plant is removed. There's no separate "add" or "delete" here, so every secret always belongs to something that uses it.
