Plant Model — Browse & Analysis

Browsing the Plant Structure

Go to Digital Twin → Plant Model → Browse to navigate your plant hierarchy.

Desktop View

The page shows five columns side by side — Site, Area, Line, Cell, and Asset. Click a node in any column to drill into it; the columns to the right update to show its children.

A breadcrumb trail at the top shows your current position. Click any crumb to jump back up the tree. Click All to return to the top level.

Clicking an asset opens a detail panel on the right showing:

  • The asset name and its position in the hierarchy.
  • The linked machine. Click View to open the full machine page.
  • If no machine is linked, a Link Machine button to assign one directly from the browse page.

Mobile View

On smaller screens, one level is shown at a time. Tap a node to drill down; use the back arrow in the column header to go up one level.

Duplicate Name Warning

If two nodes at the same level have the same name (e.g., two root sites both named "Plant 1"), an amber icon appears next to each. Go to Settings → Plant Model to investigate and remove the duplicate.

Linking a Machine from the Browse Page

If an asset has no machine linked yet, you can assign one without leaving the browse view:

  1. Click the asset to open its detail panel.
  2. Click Link Machine.
  3. Choose a workspace from the first dropdown.
  4. Choose the machine from the filtered list.
  5. Click ✓.

Using Plant Model in Trend Analysis

All major trend analysis forms support a Plant Model mode alongside the existing Machine and Device modes. This lets you select parameters by navigating your ISA-95 hierarchy instead of knowing the internal workspace/machine structure.

Supported Forms

Form Access
Data Historian Trend & Analysis → Data Historian
Timeframed Trends Trend & Analysis → Timeframed Trends
Basic Statistical Trend Trend & Analysis → Basic Statistical
Shift-Based Timeframed Trend Trend & Analysis → Shift Based
Dual Axis Trend Trend & Analysis → Dual Axis
Historical Comparison Trend Trend & Analysis → Historical Comparison

How to Use

  1. Open any of the forms above.
  2. In the source selector at the top, click Plant Model (or Plant Model on the 2-way toggle for Dual Axis Trend).
  3. Click Select Asset to open the plant model picker. Navigate Site → Area → Line → Cell → Asset.
  4. Once an asset is selected, choose the parameter(s) from its linked machine.
  5. Set the date range and other options, then run the analysis as normal.

Note

If an asset has no machine linked, the parameter picker will be disabled. Link a machine first in Settings → Plant Model.
