Notification Groups

Notification Groups define who receives alerts and reports generated by the platform — for example, a trigger firing on a machine parameter, or a scheduled report. A group can deliver to Email addresses, SMS phone numbers, or a Telegram group chat.

Engineer access required

Creating, editing, and deleting Notification Groups requires engineer access. If you can view groups but don't see the add/edit/delete controls, contact your platform administrator.

Creating a Notification Group

  1. Navigate to Settings → Groups → Notification Groups.
  2. Click the + button.
  3. Enter a Name and an optional Description.

  4. Choose a Notification Type:

    Type Delivers to
    Email One or more email addresses
    SMS One or more phone numbers
    Telegram A Telegram group chat

  5. Click Create.

The notification type cannot be changed after the group is created — if you need a different type, create a new group.

Email and SMS groups

Expand a group in the list to see its members. Click the + button on the members panel to add a recipient — give them a display name and their email address or phone number. Use the delete (bin) icon on a row to remove a recipient.

Telegram groups

A Telegram notification group posts alerts directly into a Telegram group chat instead of to individual addresses. Setting one up is a one-time registration process per Telegram group.

Registering a Telegram group

  1. Create a Notification Group with type Telegram (or expand an existing Telegram group).
  2. Click the + button and then Generate Registration Link.
  3. A QR code and a link appear, along with a copy button.

  4. On the phone that will manage the Telegram group, either:

    Open your phone's camera (or Telegram's built-in QR scanner) and scan the code shown in the dialog.

    Copy the link and open it on the device, or share it with whoever administers the Telegram group.

  5. Telegram opens its Add to Group picker. Select the group you want to receive Enture notifications in.

  6. Once added, the bot posts a confirmation message in the chat, and the group's status in Enture updates from Pending to Verified automatically — no page refresh needed.

Use the link or QR code to add the bot

The automatic confirmation only happens when the bot is added through the link or QR code shown in the dialog. If you instead search for the bot and add it to the group manually through Telegram's own "Add Member" screen, the registration will stay Pending indefinitely since Enture never receives the confirmation. If this happens, remove the bot from the group and repeat the steps above using the link/QR code.

Registration status

Status Meaning
Pending A registration link was generated but hasn't been completed yet.
Verified The Telegram group is linked and will receive notifications sent to this group.
Revoked The link/chat was manually removed and no longer receives notifications.
Expired The registration link was not used within 24 hours and is no longer valid.

Links expire after 24 hours

A registration link can only be used once and expires 24 hours after it's generated. If too much time has passed, click + again to generate a fresh link.

Removing a Telegram group registration

Click the delete (bin) icon on the registration's row and confirm. This stops notifications from being sent to that Telegram chat; it does not remove the notification group itself, and you can register a new Telegram group in its place at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Can one notification group send to Email, SMS, and Telegram all at once?
No — each group has a single notification type, set when it's created. To reach multiple channels, create a separate group per channel and attach each one to the alert or trigger.

My Telegram group registration has been stuck on "Pending" for a while — what do I do?
Make sure the bot was added using the link or QR code from the registration dialog, not added manually through Telegram's group settings. Remove the bot from the group, generate a fresh link (the old one may have expired), and repeat the steps using the link/QR code this time.

Can I register more than one Telegram group to the same notification group?
Yes. Click + again to generate another registration link and repeat the process for a second Telegram group — both will receive the same notifications.

Does removing the bot from the Telegram group on Telegram's side update the status in Enture?
Not immediately. Use the delete (bin) icon on the registration row in Enture to formally revoke it once you've removed the bot from the chat.
